FRESH START ANNOUNCES RECEIPT OF
GRANT FROM THE NORTHERN REGION GREATEST NEED FUND IN THE
IDAHO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO AID THE HOMELESS

Fresh Start, Inc. announced
today it has received a $500 grant from the Northern Region
Greatest Need Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation to
provide general operating funds to assist homeless persons
at the Fresh Start Homeless drop-in center at the Fresh
Start Building 418 Coeur d’Alene ID 83814.
Fresh Start is a 501 © 3
organization begun four years ago by a group of Downtown
Kiwanis Club members joined by volunteers from other
organizations, churches and interested individuals. Besides
snacks and sack lunches, Fresh Start provides a place where
homeless persons do their laundry, get a shower, use the
phone, get clothes, information and advice and have someone
to talk with. Volunteers are currently on duty Monday
through Friday from 9 am to noon. Cherished Ones Ministries
also provides a free soup kitchen at this building Saturday
evenings from 5 to 6 p.m. The Fresh Start Free Medical Clinic begun in December, 2006,
provides free medical care for the homeless who have no
medical insurance two evenings a week, the second Tuesday
and the 4th Saturday from 4 to 7 pm. For more
